‘Cyber Diplomacy Advanced’ course, 21-23 January 2025, Brussels
The European Security and Defence College (ESDC) had the honor of co-organizing the ‘Cyber Diplomacy Advanced’ course in collaboration with the National Defence Institute (IDN) of Portugal and the French Institute for Advanced Studies in National Defence (IHEDN). The course took place successfully in Brussels from 21 to 23 January 2025 in Brussels, bringing together a highly engaged and diverse group of participants.
Designed to offer a comprehensive perspective on cyber diplomacy, the course covered key tools, practices, and challenges in the field while examining the broader dynamics of international cyber policy relevant to the EU. A highlight of the program was the case study exercise, in which participants tackled a realistic scenario, formulating and presenting various diplomatic response strategies.
The course attracted a diverse and gender-balanced audience, with the majority of participants being specialists from Ministries of Foreign Affairs, EU Member State Permanent Representations, and EU institutions working in the field of cyber diplomacy.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the keynote speakers for their insightful contributions and high-quality presentations, which sparked dynamic and rewarding discussions among participants and experts. Finally, we would like to thank all attendees for their trust in the ESDC. We remain committed to delivering high-quality training and look forward to future opportunities to support professional development in this crucial domain.
