The European Security and Defence College (ESDC) had the privilege of co-organizing the “CSIRT Fundamentals” course in partnership with the Cyprus Digital Security Authority (DSA).
Held in Nicosia, Cyprus, from 18 to 21 February 2025, the course aimed to equip participants with the essential skills and knowledge required to operate a Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT). The curriculum covered core competencies in cybersecurity incident response and included a comprehensive introduction to risk management.
The course opened with a keynote speech by the Commissioner of Communications of Cyprus, Mr. George Michaelides. Over the course of the 4-day event, cybersecurity experts addressed topics such as Cyber Incident Response and Management, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Email Analysis and Examination, Cyber Risk Management, and Memory and Malware Analysis. Participants also had the opportunity to tour the Cyprus National CSIRT and gain insights into the day-to-day operations of a national CSIRT.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the speakers for their invaluable contributions and insightful presentations. We also appreciate the 42 participants for their trust in the ESDC, and we remain committed to delivering high-quality training in the future.
