Imagery Intelligence (IMINT) Course – PILOT, 6-17 December 2021, Athens

From 6 to 17 of December 2021, the Hellenic Joint Intelligence School (HJIS) under the aegis of European Security and Defence College conducted the #imint “Imagery Intelligence (IMINT) Pilot Course”.

In respect of the Covid-19 norms and limitations, the 10 days specialized course at technical/tactical level in the domain of preparedness, took place in residential format with the participation of 7 civilian and military personnel from 6 MSs and different EU bodies, joined to exchange good practices and expand their knowledge and skills in the important field.

A mandatory and autonomous module on the e-learning ILIAS Platform preceded the synchronous phase, providing all participant, part of the EU Cyber Ecosystem, a common knowledge of the main topics of the synchronous course and, at the end of the eLearning activity, the trainees had to perform a short assessment and complete it successfully in order to be admitted to the live online course.

During the live training, the participants are working each day in small groups, keen to learn how to apply IMINT methodology in different environments and were invited to apply the concept learned through Exercises and Case Studies.

This particular course is a common action giving the chance to the European Security and Defence College to act as a facilitator of this important PESCO project. A number of related activities are planned in this context.

We would like to thank the hierarchy of the #HJIS for the superb hospitality and their efforts to deliver a great result, to the instructors of the course for their dedication and high level of expertise and all the participants of the IMINT class 2021 for their hard work and professionalism.
