Basic Course on Security Sector Reform (SSR), 20-22 October 2021, CNAI, Romania
The ESDC’s esteemed partners, the National College for Home Affairs of Romania, CNAI, successfully delivered the ESDC Basic Course on Security Sector Reform (SSR) on 20-22 October 2021 . A vast majority of participants took part in person in Bucharest, Romania. However, the organisers, CNAI, also offered a limited number of participants the opportunity to take part remotely in hybrid format, via link.
Participants came from the Member States, the EU’s CSDP Missions as well as from EU partner countries of the Eastern Partnership to learn and to exchange experiences and expertise on SSR. The comprehensive and holistic approach followed the ESDC’s Standard Curriculum and covered the EU’s Integrated Approach, the Union’s approach SSR and DDR (Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration), Gender Responsive SSR, Cross Cultural Competences for CSDP and SSR.
In addition to subject matter experts from the EEAS, CNAI and the Police Academy, the course drew on the field experiences of distinguished international experts within the field and representatives from the EU’s CSDP Missions and Operations.
