Cyber Diplomacy Advanced course – IHEDN, Brussels, 17-19 January 2023
The European Security and Defence College (ESDC) had the honour of co-organising the Cyber Diplomacy Advanced course, together with the National Defence Institute (IDN) of Portugal and the Institute for Higher National Defence Studies (IHEDN) of France.
The course was held in the Brussels, Belgium from 17 to 19 January 2023. It aims to provide the participants with the latest developments in the cyber external relations sphere and the knowledge to understand, implement and actively identify capacity building measures to increase resilience and stability. It also aims to teach participants the Cyber Diplomacy Toolbox measures and approaches in dealing with cyber incidents.
The aim of the course was fully achieved, with a diverse group of participants from a range of professional and national backgrounds, who engaged actively with the trainers and speakers whose wide-ranging and hands-on experience in this area was put to good effect.
As well as being fully aligned with the EU’s CFSP, this course ultimately promotes and supports the fundamental values and principles of the EU, while it allowed all participants to network, interact and exchange their views in this crucial domain.
