The course was held in Brașov, Romania, from 20 to 22 September 2022, with active participation and excellent outcomes. The aim of the course was to familiarise competent personnel from the EU Member States and Institutions with the SQF-MILOF Package by discussing the implementation roadmaps at national level and providing basic skills required to bring selected national military qualifications (NMQ) into line with the SQF-MILOF and the Core Curriculum for Military Officers (MILOF-CORE). The course focused on the scope and relevance of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and the SQF-MILOF, the relationship and interdependencies between the SQF-MILOF proper and the MILOF-CORE, as well as the challenges and particularities of bringing the NMQ into line with the SQF-MILOF and defining their military focus.Figure 2: Col. During the first day of the course, trainees received an overview of the EQF, the NQF, the governance bodies and the Romanian case. Additionally, they were introduced to the SQF-MILOF competence-based qualifications framework and the competence profile of the Military Officer. On the second day, the audience had the opportunity to work in teams on bringing national military qualifications into line with the SQF-MILOF and the MILOF-CORE, under a modular and guided procedure. During the third day of the course, trainees were briefed on bringing individual learning into line with the MILOF-CORE. The course concluded with briefings on micro-credentials and the Military Qualifications Database. We would like to thank all the keynote speakers for their excellent contributions and input, and for the very high quality of their speeches and lectures. The content of the presentations and the highly relevant topics triggered thought-provoking and rewarding discussions between the participants and the experts. We would also like to thank all 19 participants for their confidence in the ESDC, and we will do our utmost to continue providing high-quality training.
