Cyber Range – defensive capabilities,CST CoE,Warsaw,27-29 September 2022
The 3-day course, “Cyber Range – defensive capabilities” has begun in Warsaw.
It is a great honour for the European Security and Defence College (#ESDC) that co-organized for the first time this important activity with the Cyber Security Training Centre of Excellence CST CoE (Eksperckie Centrum Szkolenia Cyberbezpieczeństwa), Warsaw, Poland.
The paramount objective of this specialized course at strategic-tactical-technical levels is to develop a more comprehensive approach to advanced exercises and training using new cyber defence technologies and scenarios. It will translate to enhanced skills of digital professionals and contribute to building cyber-resilience and strategic autonomy – a pillar of the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP).
The course is based on the Cyber Range (CR) platform and creates an opportunity to assess and discuss the importance of CR as a virtual training environment (the CR enables organizations to simulate cyber combat training, system and network development, testing and benchmarking – it’s a multipurpose environment in support of 3 primary processes: knowledge development, assurance and dissemination).
The training hosts selected participants in fully residential format from 27 to 29 of September 2022 in Warsaw. The attendees are civilian and military personnel – mid-level to senior officials with IT competences or experience – from EU member states, EU national authorities, EU Institutions and EU Delegations and different EU bodies.
The course implemented by the CST CoE follows the current trend of building platforms, also known as cyber training grounds or Cyber Range platforms. Such solutions allow the simulation of a wide range of cyber threats, so that professionals trained in realistic conditions can develop the skills necessary to respond to a variety of incidents occurring in the cyber domain and learn how to mitigate the cyber attacks.
The next pilot course implemented by the CST CoE under the auspices of ESDC will be as soon as October. This time the topic will be “Cyber Range – Pentester Tools”.
