European Armament Cooperation Course – Expert Level , 8-12 November 2021, Rome, Italy
From 08 to 12 November 2021, the European Armament Cooperation Course – Expert Level took place at the Italian NAD headquarter in Rome, Italy, to further increase knowledge on armament cooperation, and to foster ties among the community.
The course was organised by the European Defence Agency (EDA), the European Security and Defence College (ESDC) and the Austrian Ministry of Defence (MOD) and hosted by the Italian Ministry of Defence. The Course delivers commonly educated EAC managers who can undertake international armament cooperation projects with skill and efficiency in the context of a developing Common Security and Defence Policy. Beyond knowledge development, the course serves as a useful networking platform to foster and to harmonise armaments cooperation among the Member States.
Backed by the expertise of speakers from various international institutions like EDA, OCCAR and NSPA and academics from Europe, experts from the ITA MoD shared their knowledge and experiences and the programme was complemented by lectures from the national defence industry such as Leonardo and Fincantieri.
The topics brought on the course agenda included various aspects of cooperative programmes, research & development in cooperative programmes, rules and regulations of european defence procurement, intercultural aspects of language and communication skills and many others.
The high number of participants to this edition of the course in these challenging times confirms that the course represents an important tool for the European cooperation in the armaments domain.
