Cyberspace and artificial intelligence: developing a common resilience to the hybrid threat in the wider Mediterranean
The workshop was held on Thursday 28 March 2024 in Rome.
The initiative was promoted by the Department of Legal and Political Sciences of the Guglielmo Marconi University, a full member of the ESDC, and was supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency.
The workshop organised discussions on topics related to Cyberspace and artificial Intelligence and on progress and various problems associated with cyber and technological developments, with a view to supporting the political and diplomatic efforts made by Italy and the European Union to counter the hybrid threat in the wider Mediterranean.
The European Security and Defence College, the main European Union level entity responsible for providing training and education on the Common Security and Defence Policy, described in detail, through its Coordinator for Cyber Issues, the key role of the ESDC Cyber Education, Training, Exercise and Evaluation (ETEE) Platform in implementing the EU’s policy on cyber defence, including a specific focus on developments in artificial intelligence.
