Conclusion of the 16th European Union – Military Secondary Schools Forum Meeting in Craiova, Romania
The 16th Meeting of the European Union Military Secondary Schools Forum (EUMSSF) successfully concluded on 11 December 2024 in Craiova, Romania.
Hosted by the “Tudor Vladimirescu” National Military High School, the event underscored the Forum’s dedication to fostering leadership, exchanging best practices, and promoting shared European values among military secondary member schools.
The meeting commenced with a welcome address by the Deputy Commander of Communications and Informatics, Colonel Cristian Aristide Serescu, emphasizing the vital role of collaboration in cultivating the next generation of leaders while promoting shared European values and historical awareness. Under the chairmanship of Colonel Symeon Zambas, the Forum welcomed two new members, reflecting its commitment to expanding its network and outreach.
Highlights of the meeting included discussions on the creation of an official EUMSSF logo, which members approved for further development, and updates on the 3rd Essay Writing Olympiad, showcasing the growing engagement of young participants across Europe. The agenda also featured valuable presentations, such as the Erasmus+ accreditation guidelines and the “Motivate Platform,” aimed at inspiring teachers in the European Union.
The event concluded with a vibrant exchange of ideas highlighting the opportunity to address issues such as the impact of disinformation and the need for fact-checking among member schools. The next meeting of the EUMSSF is scheduled for 27 March 2025, in Lisbon promising continued progress in achieving the Forum’s objectives.
