Cyber Range – Pentester Tools, 24-26 September 2024, Warsaw, Poland
The Cyber Security Training Centre of Excellence (CST CoE) of the Polish Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), hosted the “Cyber Range – Pentester Tools” course from 24-26 September 2024.
Amid growing cyber threats across sectors reliant on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), cybersecurity is a critical priority for global stability. To address this, CST CoE and ESDC developed this course, part of the ESDC’s Cyber Education, Training, Exercise, and Evaluation (ETEE) platform.
The course aimed to enhance participants’ skills in identifying vulnerabilities to improve organizational cybersecurity posture. Using a Cyber Range platform, participants simulated IT infrastructure and cyber-attack scenarios in a virtual “live fire” environment.
The course, attended by law enforcement, military, and civilian personnel from EU Member States, was opened by Major Evangelos Englezakis from the ESDC and Col Michał Majewski and Lt Col Przemysław Pleszkun from the CST CoE. Participants were mid-to-senior-level officials experienced in network operations and the Linux operating system and terminal tools.
We express our gratitude to the Director of the Cyber Security Training Centre of Excellence, Mr Paweł Dziuba, and the course directors, for their committed participation in designing and managing the course, in collaboration with the ESDC. We also thank participants for attending all of the activities and for being open to learning, and we especially thank the experts of the CST CoE for their invaluable advice and insights during the course.
