EU Military Secondary Schools Forum (EUMSSF) 2nd International Venetian Rowing Course Hosted by the Italian Naval Military School ‘Francesco Morosini’
From 11 to 16 July 2022, at the Italian Naval Military School ‘Francesco Morosini’ in Venice, 6 students from the Romanian Colegiul National Militar ‘Stefan cel Mare’, 4 students from the Italian Military School ‘Nunziatella’ and 2 students from the Italian Military School ‘Teulié’ attended the 2nd International Venetian Rowing Course.
This course was offered by the Italian Navy institute within the European Union Military Secondary School Forum (EUMSSF) framework to strengthen links among European military schools.
During the activity, students learned the typical ‘voga alla veneta’ or Venetian rowing, the traditional technique still used on the narrow canals of the lagoon and one of the most distinctive elements of the so-called ‘Serenissima’.
In addition to the rowing activity, cultural and historical visits to the beauties of the city were arranged in order to illustrate the pillars on which Venice has built its success as a naval and commercial power in the Mediterranean Sea over the centuries.
