CSDP Orientation Course, 25-29 April 2022, Brussels
From 25 to 29 April 2022, the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia, under the aegis of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), held the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) Orientation Course.
The CSDP Orientation Course is a major component of EU training activities in the field of the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). It aims to develop and promote a better understanding of the CSDP as an integral part of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) of the EU.
The five-day course was held in Brussels in person and gave participants a broad understanding of the CSDP by exposing them to the institutional framework, current policies, structures and processes. A compulsory and autonomous module on the e-learning ILIAS Platform was organised before the physical course, providing participants with a common knowledge of the main topics of the residential course.
Beyond knowledge development, the course served as a useful networking platform to foster and harmonise cooperation among people working in the field of the CSDP.
The number of participants, as well as their very active engagement during the course, shows that this course is an important tool for European cooperation in the field of the CSDP.
We would like to thank all keynote speakers for their excellent contributions and very high quality speeches and lectures.
We would also like to thank all 37 participants for their trust in the ESDC, and we promise to continue to provide training of the highest standard.
