EU Integrated Crisis Management course, Finish Defence Forces International Centre and CMC Finland,13-17 September 2021
The European Security and Defence College (ESDC) had the honour of co-organising the EU integrated crisis management course together with the Finnish Defence Forces International Centre and the Crisis Management Centre CMC Finland.
The course was successfully held on-line between 13 to 17 September 2021, with active participation and excellent outcomes. The aim of the course was to enhance knowledge and understanding of crisis management in the context and culture of the EU Integrated Approach to External Conflicts and Crises.
The first day of the course was dedicated to CSDP actors and processes, including the EU Global Strategy, conflict prevention and analysis.
The second day of the course was dedicated to cross-cutting issues in CFSP and CSDP, while the third day’s main theme was CSDP capabilities, including the role of EU delegations.
The fourth day was dedicated to partnership and cooperation. The fifth and last day was dedicated to an interactive strategic decision making exercise.
The course also focused on practical aspects based on concrete case studies and a scenario-based exercise.
We would like to thank all the keynote speakers for their excellent contributions and the very high quality speeches and lectures they provided.
It is encouraging that even though they were in virtual format, the content of the presentations and the extremely relevant topics relating to crisis management that were addressed triggered very fruitful discussions between the participants and the experts.
We would like to thank all 25 participants for their trust in the ESDC, and we promise to continue providing training to the highest standards.
